It's too simple. Just create an electronic eye to put in classroom doorways that will disengage cell phones on the way in and re-engage them on the way out.

When I was at my previous school, I promulgated a rumour that, once, when a mobile 'phone went off in one of my lessons, I ground it under foot. When asked to confirm or deny the account, I would offer to put it to the tes. No one ever took the risk.
dick, off course you just started such a rumor?! But poor teachers, nowadays, can't start a rumor 'cause if it ain't on U-tube, you didn't do it -- you just made it up! And if you did do it -- that will be on U-tube, and from there it might even end up on the National News. I pity teachers, they can't even have an 'edgy day' without someone putting it on U-tube. It's not right that kicking or clearing a desk should be such a hazard to their career.
I did have to chuckle at your comment. And I'm glad for you it effected a cure. Thanks for the comment.
You just need to put in the walls of the class room a Faraday Cage. It blocks radio signals including cell signal. http://www.rfsafe.com/research/rf_radiation/shielding_rf_hazards/faraday_cage.htm
Thanks for the helpful suggestion brian, but someone else is going to have to run with it. It's all far too technical for me. Still thanks for stopping by.
